Shuttles

There has been some discussion on Here Be Tatters about Pumkin Seed Shuttles, I was introduced to the ones in the corner on their own as such, Think I will now call them Melon seeds!
I have taken this photo of a small number of my stash of shuttles, my favourites..mostly.. The centre ones are very dark wood, I bought them for a song, they were very badly put together, Ron saw them and said "I would buy those if I were you, they are easily fixed," so I did......and he did!!The black one at the bottom is an Archer shuttle, a dream to use. The shiny metal one below the Lady Hoare green and red one is German Silver that Helen my eldest daughter bought for me, the year before last, for Christmas. The bone ones, Hayley, my youngest daughter bought me last Christmas. The only shuttle I never use is the bright blue Inox shuttle, I just don't like it, it comes apart and is slippery, just as well it's one of my purchases isn't it?

motif 4 split chain bookmark

I am rather pleased with this one! never done a split chain before, The dark purple bit in the middle is the one (the one that is slightly too long) I will adjust that next time.
The pattern is an adaption of a Christmas decoration by Jennifer Williams, Our Christmas project for Cardiff Picots. I have used sise 20 Floretta in great mauves and silver sequin "doughnuts"

motif no 3

My last Christmas motif!! It is a snowflake from Tatting 2000, The Ring of tatters book. I used no 20 thread,

Happy Christmas to all who read my blog,

Special wishes to all who instructed me on swapping to Blogger!! so much easier to use,

Can anyone now instruct how to delete the other one or is it always there? I suppose I could just go through and delete the pics and put this url on for anyone who wanted to browse!

motif 2 Ruth's celic ear-rings

I am sure these are instantly recognisable, from Ruth's Celtic book. As a Celt I couldn't resist them! and I am now ready to try the more intricate patterns. (They look even better the right way up)

Back to No 1 motif

This is Buttonhole silk, it was a tiny spool put in with Bridget's threads, I can't remember where I had the pattern from, I am sorry, all I can say is that it isn't mine.
I forgot to number the last 4 motifs. I am not ready to stop yet so will carry on with another 25, Sharon has enabled me to have a better blog-space, with no disappearing images

Bridget also sent me Valdani, the Yellow is Valdani Perle Cotton, I'm sure you recognise Mary Konier's Honesty edging

The motif is one of those that just grew to the size of the thread length, that one is Valdani 35 the colour is Mango/Kiwi/Papaya, Now that is a dish I could enjoy!

I also had a lovely postcard from Bridget of Wurzburg just at sunset....gorgeous!! She also wished me Happy tatting , and may you always have a little thread in your shuttles.

Motif no 22

At last something new to post! these are the two threads that Kathy Lowe sent me in the thread exchange. They are both Valdani, the funny looking flower is Valdani 35 and the hexagon is Valdani 12. This is the first time I had seen this thread, and I drooled over it.
I went to Solihull near Birmingham to a lace fair and there was a whole stand of it, so I bought a huge reel of the quilters / lace makers thread. Dolls house here I come!!!
